Elwell Early Learning Center &
milliken Early Learning Center
The Elwell Early Learning & Milliken Early Learning Center are dedicated in providing a structured learning environment through a curriculum that develops children’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language abilities. As a District, we believe that by offering an effective early childhood program, including full-day kindergarten, focused on alignment, coherency, and continuity of programming, we are providing students with a pathway of opportunity to foster lifelong learners who are prepared for the future.

FREE Child Find Developmental Screening
Our district offers free developmental screenings from children from birth through five years old. These screenings help identify any developmental delays early on, ensuring that children receive the necessary support. To schedule an appointment or get more information, contact Chanin Gaona, the Child Find Coordinator, at (970) 373-4870 or email at [email protected]. The screenings are available in both English and Spanish.
UNIVERSAL PRESCHOOL
Universal Preschool Colorado allows families to choose the right setting for their child, whether it is in a licensed community-based, school-based or home-based preschool setting. Families of children in the year before they are eligible for kindergarten, and qualifying 3-year-olds, can apply now for Universal Preschool Colorado for the 2024 – 25 school year.
Universal Preschool Colorado is not a first-come, first-served program. Applications are currently being accepted. You can begin your application at any time and return to it as many times as you like before submitting.
Our preschool participates in Colorado’s Early Childhood Outcomes Initiative, Results Matter, using the Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment.
SCHOOL READINESS
Both the preparedness of a child to engage in and benefit from learning experiences, and the ability of a school to meet the needs of all students enrolled in publicly funded preschool or kindergarten. School readiness is enhanced when schools, families, and community service providers work collaboratively to ensure that every child is ready for higher levels of learning in academic content.

How Sick Is Too Sick?
Attending school is important. If your child misses more than 10 days in a school year, the school nurse will contact you to find out what we can do to support your child’s return to school. If you are looking for guidance on whether or not to send you child to school we have included a link below. This is also the document the health office uses to determine if we
should send a student home due to illness.
