It is my pleasure to let you know that the Board of the Colorado Association of Middle Level Education is pleased to announce that Roosevelt Middle School has been recognized for challenging students to use their minds well, being sensitive to the unique developmental needs of early adolescence, and providing every student with a high-quality learning experience — for the first time!
Roosevelt Middle School will be part of the 100+ schools that will be recognized nationwide at the National Schools to Watch Conference, June 20th – 22nd, 2024 in Washington, DC.
As you know, selection is based on a written application that requires schools to show how they met the criteria developed by the Forum. State teams organized by the Colorado Schools to Watch program conducted a site visit to your school to affirm that it has indeed met the rigorous requirements of the award. Our team observed classrooms, interviewed administrators, teachers, and parents, reviewed achievement data, suspension rates, instructional quality, and student work.
We were blown away by the culture you’ve created, the high level of engagement of your students, the robust learning, and the empowerment of everyone in your learning community from the staff, students, and the parents!
